The bakery
Sourdough, croissants, danishes, scrolls and pies — laminated, filled and baked out the back every morning before the doors open.
Bakery · Cafe · Campos Coffee — Homebush
A bakery, a kitchen and a Campos coffee machine on Burlington Road. Sit down, or take it with you.

Homebush wakes up early, so we do too. The ovens are on long before the doors are, and the first thing anyone hears is the grinder.
Deli Fresh is a bakery first. Sourdough, croissants, danishes, scrolls and pies are made out the back and carried through to the cabinet all morning. The kitchen builds breakfast and lunch on top of that bread, and the coffee is Campos. None of it is complicated. It is just done properly, and it is done early.

Sourdough, croissants, danishes, scrolls and pies — laminated, filled and baked out the back every morning before the doors open.

Eggs from six, hot plates through lunch, and everything of ours landing on bread we baked that morning.

An authorised Campos cafe. The Superior blend, ground to order, from the first cup at six to the last one before close.
Six till close
The shop is not the same at half six as it is at half three. Most regulars only ever meet one version of it.

06:00
The machine goes on before the lights do. Takeaway cups, mostly, and not much conversation.

07:30
Croissants, danishes and scrolls come through in trays. Sausage rolls and pies land in the hot cabinet about the same time.

09:30
The room fills out. Big brekkies, benedicts and açaí bowls at the window bar. High chairs come out from under the counter without anyone asking.

13:00
Burgers on our own brioche buns, steak sandwiches on our Turkish bread, and linguine going out to the footpath tables.
Pastries and rolls are restocked through the morning and cleared out by close. There is no ordering ahead on the cabinet — it is a first-thing kind of arrangement.

Two minutes from Homebush station, with footpath tables out the front. Takeaway is half of what goes out the door, so do not worry if the room looks full.
